He is an expert on rubber formulation to fulfill ASTM, DIN, ISO or automotive specifications or customers needs. He is extremely proficient in rubber compounding: excellent knowledge in the selection of the correct elastomer, also selecting the correct filler(s), its behavior, characteristics and properties in the rubber compound. He has excellent knowledge in different types of plasticizers and their correct choice.
He has excellent knowledge in rubber protection systems, and excellent knowledge of processing aids. Expert is extremely proficient in the correct choice of vulcanization systems. (Sulfur, sulfurless or peroxide based) Besides sulfur and peroxide systems, he knows special vulcanization systems, as: resin cure, diamines and room temperature. He has excellent experience in internal and roll mixers.
He is expert in rubber extrusion for: rubber hoses and profiles. Expert worked for 19 years in the major automotive hose manufacturer in South America. He knows several ways of manufacturing rubber hoses: braided, wire reinforced and wrapped rubber hoses, produced by hot or cold feed. He is also expert in hoses reinforcement and selection of the appropriate yarn. He has good knowledge about special yarns like: Aramid (Kevlar or Nomex), rayon, polyester and wire.
He is experienced with formulation, mixing, processing and vulcanization and in the selection of ingredients for specific applications. His excellent experience involves: Definition of the correct molding process (compression, transfer, injection or extrusion). Production of rubber compound, or its adaptations to that one already known, to meet the process requirements, less energy consumption and better productivity. He also knows systems of flash removal very well.
