Peter Erickson brings more than 30 years of food industry knowledge and organizational leadership expertise to Intellex. Prior to his retirement, he served as Executive Vice President for Innovation, Technology and Quality at General Mills Inc. Peter was responsible for leading a globally diverse team focused on the invention and commercialization of advantaged food products and technologies aimed at nourishing the lives of its consumers, while cultivating trustworthy brands through rigorous attention to product quality, food safety and technical excellence. During his tenure, Peter advanced efforts to embrace open innovation and venture investing as a means of expanding core capabilities, new branding and novel technology access, helping researchers progress from viewing “the lab as their world” to “the world as their lab”.
Peter remains active in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship and new business creation, through his service on a range of boards, advisory groups and nonprofits. He serves on the board of directors for Wenger Corporation, Pantheryx and NobleGen Inc. and advises SEMCAP Food & Nutrition group and several high growth food businesses. In addition, he is the co-founder and enthusiastically involved with two non-profit organizations, Partners in Food Solutions and 4 Access Partners, focusing on addressing the issue of food insecurity and helping underrepresented food entrepreneurs succeed.
Peter received both a BS and MS degree in Food Science at the University of Massachusetts.
