Expert is Professor, International Technical Sales at the University of Applied Sciences Aschaffenburg, Germany. He has over 12 years of experience working at senior management roles with Leoni Wiring Systems. Most recently, expert was Global Senior Vice President, Business Unit (BU), Mercedes-Benz at Leoni Wiring Systems. He joined Leoni Wiring Systems as the Director Sales for BU Mercedes-Benz and later became Managing Director of a Leoni Joint Venture 'Intedis' (a Hella Leoni Joint Venture). At Intedis, he focused on engineering of complete E/E (Electric & Electronic) systems. He had the opportunity to combine the technical knowhow gained while working with Fraunhofer with the sales experience out of the operational business. Consequently, he led the company to focus on consulting, engineering and predevelopment projects in the automotive industry in order to create greater value to the OEMs by optimizing both, electrics and electronics simultaneously in a car.
In 2007, he became Director, Global Operations at Leoni and managed production plants in China, Mexico, Romania, Tunisia and Moldova supplying to customer plants across Europe, Asia and Nafta. Expert had complete responsibility for logistics (inlcuding JIS-Just in Sequence Delivery) and production with several thousand employees and eventually took over the full P&L responsibility for global activities of Leoni Wiring Systems for the BU Mercedes-Benz. Further, he was technically and commercially responsible for the entire business including quality, operations, engineering, project management, purchasing and sales. He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Dortmund (Germany) and did his Doctorate Thesis from University of Stuttgart where he worked in parallel at Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA). In that time, expert focused on consulting and engineering in the field of the assembly of non-rigid parts specifically wire harnesses and electric products.
