LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

AMERICAN COUNCIL ON EDUCATION (ACE) FELLOWS PROGRAM
Will begin the program in Spring 2024 – Summer 2025.

PROVOST’S FACULTY FELLOWS PROGRAM (UNIVERSITY LEADERSHIP TRACK)
Provost Faculty Fellow project was designed to explore the development of a data system for research and projects that faculty and staff could use to engage broadly across campus. Expert partnered during the project and met with administrative leaders across campus including Associate Vice Chancellor's, Senior Vice Provost's, Deans, and Associate Deans to discuss the pros, cons, viability, costs, and benefits of a centralized university-wide database. He explored the importance of this initiative, vision, and mission (value proposition), the capacity (people, money, resources, infrastructure, skills needed), and the support (stakeholders to be engaged, potential challenges, whose support would be relevant and necessary) for this data system. They compiled the interview data and are working on completing a short summary and a presentation for the Chancellor, Provost, and University leadership.

NORTH CAROLINA FERAL SWINE TASK FORCE
As a leading member of the North Carolina Feral Swine Task Force, he has worked closely with members from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, North Carolina Pork Council, North Carolina Livestock Producers Association, USDA-Wildlife Services, USDA-Veterinary Services, Natural Resource Conservation Service, North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service, North Carolina Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and North Carolina Farm Bureau. Expert was co-leader of a subcommittee charged with writing the North Carolina Feral Swine Elimination Plan. He wrote the elimination plan and presented this plan to the North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture, farmers, ranchers, and constituents across North Carolina. The goal of the Feral Swine Task Force is to eliminate feral swine from the North Carolina landscape and they are currently pursuing Commissioner and Legislative support.

FACULTY FELLOW IN THE OFFICE OF ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION
The Office of Assessment and Accreditation (OAA) supports the facilitation of campus-wide assessment and accreditation processes. OAA leads the academic and administrative outcomes assessment processes and works collaboratively with university stakeholders to coordinate comprehensive external program review. OAA is responsible for leading data collection and reporting for accreditation as well as facilitating the substantive change process for the institution. OAA guides these efforts in congruence with NC State’s expectations for continuous improvement and excellence as well as with standards for compliance with specialized accreditors and the institutional accrediting body, SACSCOC. He worked specifically on SASCOC standard 6 related to 1) Faculty Qualification and Faculty by Program (The institution employs an adequate number of full-time faculty members to support the mission and goals of the institution, for each of its educational programs, the institution justifies and documents the qualifications of its faculty members, and for each of its educational programs, the institution employs a sufficient number of full-time faculty members to ensure curriculum and program quality, integrity, and review, 2) Program Coordination and Evaluation (For each of its educational programs, the institution assigns appropriate responsibility for program coordination and evaluation.

In 2023, Expert was elected as a member of the NCSU Faculty Assembly Delegation and Associate Chair of the Faculty Senate.
