Expert has worked extensively in reducing bacterial toxins in final biologic products through process control, downstream processing and toxin measurements.
He directed a division at SmithKline Beecham Animal Health on biologic response modifiers, adjuvants and delivery systems. Through his efforts, new materials were added to the veterinary and human biologics programs. In his consulting practice, Expert works with clients on various modifier and immune enhancers for disease prevention, treatment and vaccine augmentations.
Expert has been a scientific business manager for over 21 years. He has directed staffs up to 37 scientists and controlled a total budget of $7.5 million (operating, contingency and capital expenditures). He presently serves on the Board of Directors of ImmuCell Corporation where he contributes his business management skills to the biotech organization.
Expert is a seasoned professional in vaccination. He has licensed products which encompass cutting edge technologies, as well as market-proven older concepts. He was the first researcher to license a live recombinant virus for domestic animal use. He holds international patents on feline leukemia vaccines as well as rabies immunoenhancers. And he has worked with vaccines of various presentations (live, inactivated, vectored, synthetics and DNA) and for various species.
Expert helped design a new virus production facility for client. He also has experience designing a new animal holding facility.
He regularly does on-site in-depth R&D projects, on-site troubleshooting of biological processes, and on-site project management and project reviews.
