Presently involved as Senior Carp Hatchery Management and Genetic Specialist with The WorldFish Center, Bangladesh and South Asia Office, Dhaka, Bangladesh under “Improving Carp Seed Quality in Greater Noakhali and Greater Barishal, Bagladesh” :DANIDA-aided Agriculture Sector Programme Support (ASPS)-Phase II project to render the following responsibilities:
•As a senior team member of the project will provide technical backstopping to review, plan and implement carp brood stock replacement and genetic management technique(s).
•To monitor the quality carp seed production system operation time to time and render necessary guidelines to the respective hatchery/nursery managers associated with the project.
•To coordinate with other team members (both national and international) to carry out set responsibilities along with the assigned project staffs.
Consultancy service was carried out from 20 November to 01 December 2000 for the country specific and synthesis report writing under the Genetic Improvement of Carp Species in Asia Project in coordination with the Project Leader and working with other ICLARM senior scientists at WorldFish Center (formerly ICLARM), Penang, Malaysia. The following responsibilities were accomplished:
•Finalization of the country specific reports submitted by Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam following partners;
•Synthesis of the country report and finalization of the Project’s Final Report.
