Expert studied textile chemistry, textile engineering, colour management, and dyehouse management with the internationally renowned Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) as an undergraduate in the 90’s and attained his CText ATI from the prestigious Textile Institute in 2011 and Fellowship of the Textile Institute CText FTi in 2019. He is currently working towards an MBA with Open University. Having worked for 12 years within dyehouses and vertical mill operations in both team leader and dyehouse manager roles at British Mohair Spinners and Milliken, in 1997 Expert’s career developed into technical sales for Roaches International, a textile laboratory machinery manufacturer, with an in-house research and development facility, advising on market trends and current technology requirements for the textile industry.
Expert has been the managing director of a textile consultancy practice that offers project support and project management to the wider textile industry in the areas of Textile Wet Processing ~ Textile Sustainability ~ ZDHC/REACH ~ Colour Management ~ Fabric Construction. He is a Trustee on the Board of Directors for the SDC (since 2012) and is also a voting member of the BSI (British Standards Institute) and ASTM (American Society of Testing Materials), and a member of the AATCC (American Association of Textile Color Chemists).
