ROOM TEMPERATURE VULCANIZING (RTV) RUBBER; SILICONE ELASTOMER. Expert spent a significant portion of his career in the area of silicone RTVs. He has applied his expertise in developing new processes, test techniques, and troubleshooting manufacturing systems. His work has led to the development of new products, both in one- and two-part RTVs. Recently, Expert has been active with the custom synthesis of specialty silicones/elastomers.

GASKET. Through the development of silicone gasket materials, Expert has become very involved in gasket technology. Working with compression and adhesion type gaskets, as well as through field, fleet, and dyno testing, many new concepts have been developed and put into practice. He has developed both condensation- and addition-cured silicones (with very low-loss of compression set properties) for unique gasketing applications.

SILICA CHEMISTRY. Expert has experience in various rheological and reinforcement as well as adhesive characteristics. These characteristics can be imparted to products based on the particle size, treatment, and shear environment a compound is exposed to. He has custom developed several grades for these purposes.

SILICONE RUBBER. The bulk of Expert's silicone rubber expertise is in the RTV area. His experience is in both addition and condensation cure systems, testing to customer specifications, cure acceleration, and property enhancement, as well as high temperature and fluid resistance capabilities. He worked extensively on the development of state-of-the-art silicone tubing for medical and pharmaceutical products.

SILICONE ADHESIVE; SILICONE SEALANT. Expert has extensive experience in the field of silicone adhesion. He is also familiar with adhesion promoters for silicone products. He has worked on enhancing silicone adhesion to unique substrates and has worked with vendors in developing new adhesion promoters.

TWO-PART ROOM TEMPERATURE VULCANIZING SILICONE COMPOUND. Expert has developed very fast-curing versions of these silicone compounds. In addition, he has modified current versions to enable enhanced properties such as low viscosity, fast cure, high tear, and others.

TREATED SILICA; FUMED SILICA. Expert has worked with major vendors worldwide in order to develop the best treated silicas on the market. He uses various agents, resulting in enhanced rheological or reinforcement properties in compounded elastomers.

DIE SPRAY LUBRICANT FORMULATION. In metalworking applications, blends of natural and synthetic lubricants are sprayed into molds prior to the pouring of molten metals. This process facilitates the ejection of the molded metal parts. Expert has custom developed products for many U.S. die spray companies.


Training/Seminars Expert offers seminars through his company Employer. These seminars include Silicone Processing, Troubleshooting RTV Silicone Products, Silicone Gasketing Technology, Silicone Reinforcement, and Adhesion with Silicone Elastomers.
