Expert is Managing Director of a security consulting firm int the United Arab Emirates and Director of a UK security company.

He is an ASIS International qualified Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) by examination and holder of various Edexcel BTEC Professional qualifications in security technology disciplines. He is a former elected director of the Association of Security Consultants, a member of ASIS International, a member of the Security Institute and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Expert has over 25 years of experience as a security practitioner, 17 years of which were spent in various roles with security systems manufacturers and contractors. He has designed, project managed and in some cases consulted on a career total of in excess of 30 town/city centre public space surveillance schemes, numerous security technology projects in housing, healthcare and education, high security sites including H M Treasury, National Library of Wales and Water/Gas utility sites with economic key point status.

Expert has built and developed an extensive contact network within the security industry, both in the UK and Middle East Regions. He is an experienced consultant with a track record of assisting organizations to identify vulnerabilities, risk profiling and risk criticality.

Expert has applied operational experience with professional security management and physical security related qualifications to continuously deliver high quality security support on behalf of his client base. He strives to deliver consultancy with reliability and validity of content.

Expert is experienced as an expert in the following areas:

• Established and managed an independent security consulting practice (SGW), initially starting as home based business which developed into international practice with UK & United Arab Emirates offices – receiving peer review nomination as finalist in 2009 and 2010 in the category ‘Security Consultant of the Year’ at the UK Security Excellence Awards.
• Extensive experience in security risk assessment, security reviews, and audits on a wide range of high profile sites and facilities.
• Experienced independent consultant and project manager through lifecycle of security contracts up to £7M programme value.
• Production of detailed operational requirements, and technical designs associated with Access Control, ANPR, CCTV, Data Communications, Door Entry, Fibre Optic Communications, Intruder Alarms, Lone Worker, Perimeter Intruder Detection Systems, Security Control Rooms, and Video & Voice Communications.
• Holds a proven track record in project implementation & project management, gained in a wide range of complex and highly demanding security system related projects.
• Has longevity of experience in producing meaningful detailed pictorial & diagrammatic documentation, for system design, cost control, implementation, and project delivery, using a variety of software including Auto Desk AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, Corel Draw, Visio, and MS Project.
• Has developed a detailed technical knowledge of installation techniques, and specification standards associated with security and surveillance systems.
• Trained in expert witness report writing by the Academy of Experts and has presented security related litigation reports to the legal profession in the capacity of an expert witness.

ANPR – Project management and implementation for the installation of ANPR (“Automatic Number plate Recognition Systems”) for Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield, and The Trafford Centre in Manchester.Access Control – Design, implementation, & project management of stand-alone & networked access control systems for a wide variety of applications between 1985, and present. Applications have included police force wide enterprise based physical access control, local authority high & low-rise concierge housing projects, economic key point water treatment works and gas compressor site installations, and multi-tenanted office complexes. Systems familiarity includes card-based proximity, physical turnstile, optical turnstile, biometric fingerprint, biometric iris, biometric hand geometry, pedestrian & vehicular control, and people counting.CCTV – Design, implementation, & or project management of approximately 35 Town/City Centre CCTV Schemes, other major CCTV schemes, including rail, port, airport, office complexes and shopping centre applications. Full understanding of Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) performance guidelines for CCTV performance, which has been applied to the CCTV consultancy methodology process practiced commercially.Security Consultancy – he has provided consultancy and project management throughout the lifecycle of a project for a large diverse range of clients / sites including HM Treasury, The National Library of Wales, Banks, Building Societies, Government Departments, Hospitals, Universities, Airports and Passenger Transport Executives. Overseas projects include preparation and delivery of fire, health, safety and security plans, policies and procedures for the King Abdulla Universities of Health & Science in Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina and Al-Hassa + Security Master Planning for the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Centre.PIDS Systems – Extensive “Perimeter Intruder Detection Systems” experience gained in designing, implementing, & or project managing major schemes to include UK Prisons, British Gas Transco Compressor Stations and the National Transmission Centre.
High Security Systems – High security systems experience, gained in bid preparation, design, implementation, & project management of integrated intruder alarm, access control, lone worker, and CCTV systems at various water treatment works throughout the UK.
