Expert has practiced Clinical Rheumatolgy for over 30 years, with specific experience treating large numbers of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and other related conditions. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and he has published peer review literature and frequently lectures to primary care physicians. He has particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory arthritis, conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, spondylitis and crystalline arthritis (e.g. gout). Rheumatologists diagnose and treat diseases that affect the joints, soft tissue and connective tissues. Many of these conditions result from autoimmune disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma and systemic lupus erythematosus.

Expert is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and he is affiliated with UPMC St. Margaret. He completed his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, residency at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, and fellowship at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
