Expert has been involved in the productivity 'movement' for many years. He has written books and papers on the subject and made many conference presentations. Expert has wide project experience at all levels from advising national governments to being an expert witness to improving productivity at specific plants, factories, offices, warehouses, etc.

Expert networks extensively, blogs regularly and runs the 'Productivity Futures' group on the professional networking site LinkedIn.

Expert is Director of the Employer, President of the World Confederation of Productivity Science, President-elect of the European Association of National Productivity Centres and co-editor of the International Journal of Productivity & Performance Management.

Expert designed the M.Sc course in Productivity & Innovation Development offered by Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education and is a regular writer on innovation (and open innovation) topics.

Expert has also acted as consultant to a number of organisations, advising on innovation policy and practice (especially on creating and nurturing ideas), and on 'innovation spaces'.

Expert has worked with a major food manufacturer in the UK on energy awareness and management resulting in significant cost savings. Expert has worked with a major retailer on ethical sourcing of products, using productivity improvement in overseas factories as a means of raising local wage levels. Expert has worked with a major distribution company on establishing appropriate rest/relaxation allowances and work-rest regimes.
