Expert is an expert in the product development process and has provided expert depositions on liability issues concerning a product's design. He examines the design process/considerations that were used to design the product and then identifies potential problems, mistakes, and risks that occurred in the development process. He has also evaluated existing development processes to identify areas of technical risk. This work has included the design and test of manufacturing-related equipment. While in industry, Expert spent time as a system safety, human factors, and quality assurance engineer. He is a professional engineer in the state of Texas.

A significant portion of Expert's research and consulting is spent on producibility. As a senior engineer in industry, he specialized in system design and manufacturing. Expert is a principal in UTA's Automation and Robotics Research Institute. He is currently developing producibility methods for several companies and methodologies for transitioning products from the development phase to production. He has considerable experience with electronic products (PCs, alarm clocks, etc.) and defense products. He has written a book and many papers on producibility and has participated on several government panels on producibility.

Expert has worked on risk management, risk assessment, measurement, and risk avoidance in product development. He has concentrated on reducing the risks of developing high technology products.
