In recent years, he assisted a "Fortune 500" company in developing an agrochemical screening and followup program by designed synthesis.
PATENTS. Expert is a registered patent agent who is qualified to prepare and prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent Office (he prefers work with a patent attorney). He is also very knowledgeable regarding patent strategy.
SPECIALTY CHEMICALS; POLYMER ADDITIVE; POLYMER STABILIZER; WATER-TREATMENT CHEMICAL. Expert has extensive knowledge of polymer additives, specialty monomers, surfactants, stabilizers, water-treatment chemicals, metal extractants and functional polymers.
RESEARCH PLANNING AND STRATEGY. As senior scientist with a leading U.S. chemical company, Expert became proficient in "market-pull" and "technology-push" project generation and planning. He performed research program and personnel evaluation and upgrading, and orientation of research to match corporate goals and capabilities (he wrote and published an authoritative article in "Research Management" on this topic). He is experienced with technical database searching and is skilled at tracking down sources of information. He also has "brainstorming" expertise.
RESEARCH STRATEGY; RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PLANNING. Expert has experience relating research to company needs and opportunities. He held research strategy responsibilities both as a senior scientist for a large chemical company and as a consultant.
Expert has had numerous consulting visits with a wide range of large and small companies (domestic and overseas in Europe, Asia, and Australia). These visits were regarding flame retardancy, sulfur chemistry, phosphorus chemistry, agrochemicals, and textile finishes. He was instrumental in providing the solution to a problem of army
ordinance (Aberdeen Proving Grounds).
His consulting contract was repeatedly renewed for 20 years by one of his chemical industry clients. Expert was brought in for "brainstorming" sessions several times by one client, evidencing good success in generating creative and useful ideas. He has invented patentable new products for several of his clients.
