Expert has authored or edited numerous papers, including articles published in the Encyclopedia of Polymer Science and Engineering, and major books, including Concise Encyclopedia of Plastics, Injection Molding Handbook, and Designing with Plastics and Composites. He also holds 12 patents with 6 pending. Among his many accolades, Expert has been named Engineer of the Year by the Society of Plastics Engineers. Expert has extensive technical marketing plastic industry business experience from R&D product development, through manufacturing, to marketing and sales, having worked for Northrop Grumman, Owens-Illinois/Graham, DuPont/Conoco, Celanese/Ticona, and Borg Warner/G.E. Plastics/Polysar. He has written extensively, developed numerous patents within the polymer related industries, is a participating member of many trade and industry groups, such as SPE, SPI, PIA, CPPIA and SAMPE(technical development; prototype manufacturing).

He received BS in Chemistry from Boston College, MBA at Northeastern University, M.S. Plastics Engineering/M.S. Polymer Chemistry/M.S. Chemical Engineering from University of Massachusetts Lowell, and Ph.D. Business Administration at University of California, Berkeley.

In quick summary, over a 40+ year career he has been directly involved in the publication of 30 plastics books, among a myriad of other publication types (other books/encyclopedias, SPE molding division newsletters, twenty-one diversified, original, University of Massachusetts Lowell plastic seminar modules, etc.)—with an enlarged online article (150+), webinar (50+), newsletter (5+ series), and proprietary report (50+) presence. Over the last decade, he's continued to geometrically accelerate into a global plastics audience. He also remained a dedicated plastics product and market developer from a global resin supplier’s focus—DuPont, Celanese, Borg-Warner, Polysar and a manufacturing standpoint-Grumman Aerospace, Owens-Illinois, Norton (1st LCP—liquid crystal polymer development/ commercialization—the most profitable core high or ultra-performance polymer on an economic profit margin basis, PEEK/PPS/PEI/PPA/fluoropolymer compounds; production plant trial blow molded the first PET bottle; new static dissipative testing methodologies with eventual ABS alloy commercialization; developed and commercialized the first polylactic acid biopolymers for disposable packaging drink cups which Cargill eventually acquires; numerous aerospace/defense parts—the most recent UAV drone fuel cell packs, lightning strike structures, DARPA ballistics components, etc.; inherently conductive polymer alloys for E/E use; Olympic luge and bobsled and America’s Cup composite parts; greenbuilding LEED/ARPA, shale oil piping, and alternative energy (wind, solar, wave/tidal, fuel cell) plastic applications; a number of proprietary specialty resin-additive-compound developments—super tough acetals/nylons, nylon/polycarbonate/polybutylene terephthalate blends & alloys, long glass fiber/thermoplastic composites, branched and engineered PETs, antistatic epichlorohydrins, fully cured TPVs, clean thermosets, biocomposites, thermally conductive, bearing/wear, for example; and etc.).
