Expert served as director of rehabilitation services with experience in CARF accreditation, budget planning and management, productivity standards development and management, program development, department and system mergers, quality assurance planning, monitoring and reporting, and leadership of multidisciplinary staff. Expert has spent twenty years working in the field of physical therapy in a variety of settings. These include inpatient acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, sports medicine, worker's compensation, and home health. He has also taught in a physical therapist assistant's program. Seven and a half years were spent in ownership of a private outpatient clinic. He has performed hundreds of functional capacity assessments using three different approaches, one of which he developed independently.
Expert served as director of an inpatient rehabilitation unit during the transition of ownership from a contracted company to the health system in which the unit resided. This included obtaining a full, three year CARF accreditation for the unit. He provided education to staff related to proper coding, billing, and documentation for rehab services.
