Supervise the utilization of Automated Dispensing Machines (Pyxis stations) to ensure meaningful and proper use of pharmacy technology.
Participate in the orientation and education of medical residents.
Participate in interviewing and recruitment of pharmacy team members.
Assist in the development of staff educational and training programs.
Participates in medical rounds with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers and other healthcare practitioners.
Enter, review and process physician orders for accuracy and appropriateness of therapy.
Participate in monitoring and supervising CSP processes (Compounded Sterile Products) and non-sterile compounding processes including chemotherapy.
Participate in Quality reviews related to medication events and provide practice changes needed to prevent recurrence.
Monitor daily labs, cultures and clinical status of patients while dosing and adjusting antimicrobial, and other medication therapies.
Interview and educate patients and family members about medication therapies
