HYDRAULIC FRACTURING. Expert's work on hydraulic fracturing has included modeling the temperature and pressure behavior in the well, the fracture, and the surrounding formation. It has also included studies of fracture conductivity. For several years, he has been developing new techniques for experimentally evaluating the conductivity of acid fractures (hydraulic fractures which have been etched by acid).
MULTICOMPONENT FLOW. Expert's interest in multicomponent flow stems from studies of production logging. He explains that this is Experttype of well logging aimed Expert locating where oil, water, and gas enter wells. His experience includes the development and application of correlations for flow regimes and pressure gradient predictions, and studies of metering techniques for multiphase flow.
MULTIPHASE FLOW MEASUREMENT. Expert has evaluated, both experimentally and theoretically, the characteristics of metering devices that are used for multiphase flow measurement in oil and gas wells. In recent years, he has been working on the development of ultrasonic techniques for multiphase flow metering.
PETROLEUM PRODUCTION ENGINEERING. Expert has been active in teaching and research in this area of petroleum engineering for the past 15 years. He has recently co-authored Experttextbook on the subject of petroleum production engineering. His emphasis in production engineering has been in well performance diagnosis and well stimulation.
WELL STIMULATION. Well stimulation is presently Expert's primary research focus. For the past eight years, he has directed Expertlarge industrially-funded research program aimed Expert all major aspects of well stimulation. His group's work in this area has led to the development of numerous computer models being used for well stimulation design.
