Expert is the director of the Employer Genomics Center. He has years of experience in all types of genomics applications. His Center provides service to academic and industry labs for transcriptional profiling, genotyping, tiling arrays, exon arrays, methylation, real time PCR, microRNAs and any other genomic application. A major focus of the genomics applications are in the areas of cancer, immunology, inflammation, autoimmune diseases, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. A major effort is towards introducing new genomic technologies into the clinical lab and apply genomics to personalized medicine.
As the director of the Employer Genomics Center and of the Dana Farber/ Harvard Cancer Center Proteomics Core Expert has ample expertise in all aspects of proteomics including protein fractionation, mass spectrometry, ELISA based assays, protein microarrays, microfluidics, surface plasmon resonance and high throughput assays utilizing robotics and various automation equipment. His center has instrumentation from all major suppliers including ABI, Thermo, Waters, Beckman, Dionex, Agilent, GE Healthcare, Caliper etc. A major focus of Expert is the discovery of biomarkers for various diseases using bodily fluids such as blood, urine and cerebrospinal fluid as well as tissues. Major disease areas for biomarker discovery in his center include cancer of the breast, kidney, liver, ovary, prostate, brain, leukemia, lymphoma, as well as hepatitis C virus infection, diabetes, obesity, inflammation, autoimmune diseases, and cardiovascular disease.
As the director of the Employer Genomics Center and of the Dana Farber/ Harvard Cancer Center Proteomics Core Expert is involved in evaluating all types of instrumentation for genomics, proteomics, cell biolopgy, automation, high throughput assays, molecular biology, drug screening etc. He has more than 20 years experience in research. His center is testing and evaluating many new instruments and technologies as a beta test site.
Expert has strong expertise in gene therapy. He is applying gene therapy approaches using adenovirus, lentivirus, retrovirus and naked DNA or RNA for various basic science questions and as potential therapies for diseases such as cancer.
Expert has over 30 years of experience in oncology and cancer research. He has published many manuscripts related to
glioblastomas, prostate cancer, renal cell cancer, ovarian cancer and multiple myeloma, some of them groundbreaking discoveries related
to cancer development and progression. He is an expert in diagnostics of cancer as well as in the molecular mechanisms and signaling
pathways involved in cancer development and progression. His expertise extends towards developing and testing novel anti-cancer
therapies. He has majise in genomic and proteomic approaches to cancer and the bioinformatic and systems biology analysis of
such data.
He has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Cardion. He is routinely consulting investment companies on biotechnology and pharma companies.He is on the scientific advisory board of Karyon Therapeutics.He is the Chief Scientific Advisor for BananaLogix
