We had a customer interested in preparing a paste of a heavy metal oxide. The paste formation and delivery were simple, but the customer found that the metal oxide particle degraded in the subsequent use. We reformulated the particle and developed a better particle and a usable paste.
A customer came to us with a request to silane treat pigments for better dispensability. Previous attempts at doing this process resulted in an unacceptable amount of agglomeration of the particles. We developed a novel and ultimately patentable process to coat particles without agglomeration.
We visited a pharmaceutical company to discuss methods of preparing nanoparticle drugs. We evaluated the current patent literature, had an intensive brainstorming session, and developed a technique for forming nanoparticulate dispersion that was outside the current art.
We had a customer come to us with a simple grinding job. However, upon reflection and working with the customer we found that the customer had been working with numerous companies to grind their materials with no success. We developed a new cryogrinding process that met the customers need for size distribution, yield, and cleanliness.
