Expert has over 35 years experience in petroleum exploration and production work. His professional background emphasizes geoseismic evaluations, field exploitation studies, exploration and production management, joint venture management and negotiations. Before early retirement from Conoco, Inc., he held several senior E&P management positions including: General Manager, Exploration, in London; Exploration Manager, Onshore US; President and GM, Conoco Indonesia in Jakarta; President and GM, Conoco Asia-Pacific in Tokyo.
After retirement he was active in petroleum E&P consulting and was a principal in a South Texas production venture and in several drilling projects. He has wide international exploration experience with special expertise in Libya, the North Sea and Southeast Asia. Primary strengths are in subsurface studies, managing exploration and exploitation programs, property evaluations, project analysis. He has conducted many farm-in/farm-out projects and has organized joint venture projects. Expert is a Certified Petroleum Geologist. Educational background is a BS (Geology), graduate studies (Economics and Engineering) and the Executive Business Program.
A geologic map records and presents the distribution of geologic and stratigraphic units at or near the surface of land. They are generally displayed on topographic base maps and boundaries between geologic units are surveyed to be tied to topographic boundaries. Geologic maps are the basis for land use, water use, mineral use and all resource use decisions. These maps are used for resource evaluation and explotation, to identify and protect resources and to identify and avoid risks from natural hazards. Subsurface exploration involves the integration of all available data to interpret the gelogic conditions of the subsurface Geoscientists integrate surface geology, geophysical data, bore hole data and any other information to prepare subsurace maps, cross-sections and computer models. These interpretations are the primary vehicle for petroeum exploration.
Geology is the primary Earth Science. It is the science and study of the Earth's solid matter, its composition, history, structure and physical properties. It involves the study and understanding of the processes that make up the Earth and our Solar System. Stratigraphy is a special branch of Geology and the Earth Sciences that is study of layered rocks. Layering of rocks is called "stratification" and has two primary subfields, "lithostratigraphy" and "biostratigraphy". This study is used primarily for sedimentary and layered volcanic racks.
He obtained drilling contracts and supervised evaluation of exploration wells in Robertson and Goliad counties, TexasHe prepared evaluation report to identify possible property acquisitions in East Shetlands Basin, North SeaHe evaluated investment proposal for interests in shallow gas project in the North Central Platform, TexasHe reviewed recent well results and evaluated proposal to acquire an equity interest in an offshore contract area, Irian Jaya (W. New Guinea), Indonesia
