Riser and pipeline activities include: steel catenary riser pull-in systems, flexible risers and flowline installations, umbilicals and flying leads; diver and diverless jumper/spoolpiece tie-ins with horizontal and vertical bolted swivel flanges, collet connectors, and clamped hubs; pipeline pigging, testing and commissioning operations and pipeline repairs utilizing seabed lifting frames, hyperbaric welding, and mechanical connectors
Subsea work involved the installation of gravity based skirt structures; manifolds on suction pile foundations and driven piles with hydrolok swaging; interfacing at manifolds and production trees with torque tools and hot stabs.
The execution of the various projects required the preparation and development of: concept selection options; design basis input; execution plans; field architecture studies; transportation and installation scopes of works and specifications; marine operations manuals; milestone schedules; cost estimates; risk identification and mitigations; hazids and SIMOP reviews; marine warranty surveyor (MWS) scope of work development; coordination of transport and installation vessel/barge selection and utilization; inspections and approvals ( OVIDs); management of change (MOC) activities and readiness reviews; The pre FEED and FEED work included: contracting strategy development; installation input to the design basis; tender document preparation (scope and specs); bid evaluations ( technical and commercial ); contract negotiations /administration and coordination of geotechnical investigation requirements for mooring, foundation pile locations and pipeline routing. Selection, recruitment, and management of the clients' offshore team. Offshore contract management and compiling and checking of offshore progress reports.
The overall installation execution plans included for continuous interface coordination between the installation contractors, facility designer, facility fabricators, certified verification agent, marine warranty surveyor, drilling, operations, topsides, pipeline, subsea and hook up and commissioning/startup teams. Inspection visits at vendor facilities included the monitoring of inspection and test plan activities and the witnessing of FAT and SIT programs.
Offshore work included attendance on DP and moored heavy lift barges, DP diving vessels, pipe-lay, and umbilical lay vessels, flotels (DP and moored), drilling rigs (DP, moored, jack-ups) and towing /anchor handling vessels.
Diving and ROV activities included the direct site management of operations involving: air diving; saturation diving and remotely operated vehicles, both light and heavy work class and risk assessments and SIMOPS plans for underwater inspection and repairs with mechanical and grouted clamps; wet and dry hyperbaric welding in habitats and cofferdams.
Fabrication yard work included: review and approval of workmanship and quality (material and welding certification, traceability and NDE); coordination between installation contractor, facility designer and fabricator and marine warranty surveyor; monitoring of load out activities using winches, strand jacks and trailer systems; review of engineering, analysis and equipment for mooring systems for barges and vessels during loadouts; review of heavy lift engineering, lifting equipment inspections and witnessing H/L operations during loadouts.
Other activities included planning and supervision of: topsides structural hook up work; drilling conductor installation and driving; decommissioning and deep water salvage.
