Responsibilities:He was asked to assume leadership responsibilities and manage change of the relatively large (four locations, 125 employees, and 18 practitioners) medical group practice. This was an independent, employee owned medical group practice that was at the time under investigation by Medicare for allegations of fraud. This was to be a temporary position until the investigation was closed.It became clear that leadership in place prior to the start of the Medicare investigation could not continue in their positions. He was appointed by the Board of Directors to continue leading the group through this difficult time. The end result measures were strongly positive. The clinic system went from an authoritarian culture of negativity to one that embraced goal setting to meet a long term outcomes of financial success, individual accountability, and high ethical standards in accounting, billing and collections. Profits became stable and predictable. |
