Expert has worked for over 20 years in the manufacture of fuel pellets for fast reactors and light water reactors. His principle expertise and expereience is mixed oxide (U/Pu) fuel pellets. He has worked on design, commissioning and operation of processing plants going through all the processes from powder import, mixing, compacting into pellets, sintering and pellet grinding and inspection. He has a full understanding of customer specfications and expectations having made fuel pellets for reactors in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Japan.

Expert is experienced in the design of plants for processing nuclear fuel and waste, and is well versed in all stages of the design process from strategic assessments, optioneering studies, generation of initial designs and through to detailed design construction, commissioning and operation. His principle expertise is in process design, and generation of process flowsheets.

Expert has substantial experience with nuclear regulators (safety, safeguards environmental)

Expert has experience in a nuclear design office as Principle Process Engineer, and has covered many aspects of design from concepts through to detail. This has included optioneering studies, process flow diagrams, process flowsheets etc. He has also worked extrensively in bid preparation. This work has covered processing and decontamination of fuel containers, decontamination of nuclear plant, processing of ILW, aerial abatement systems.
