Request Expert

Expert is an academic neurosurgeon specialized in complex spine/deformity surgery, currently practicing as Assistant Professor at the Division of Neurosurgery at very prestigious university. During the past years, he has had the privilege of teaching and mentoring several residents in their neurosurgical education and research pursuits. Expert has been an active member of the North American Spine Society (NASS), American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) as well as many other international societies such as the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery and the Brazilian Academy of Neurosurgery, often speaking as invited guest in their annual meetings . In the mid 2000's, Expert had the privilege of joining the editorial board of The Spine Journal (TSJ), the official journal of the North American Spine Society and the journal with the highest scientific impact in spine care, having been recently promoted to Elite Reviewer status. Expert also serves the North American Spine Society Journal (NASSJ), the new open access initiative of the North American Spine Society.

Expert is an active reviewer of several other neurosurgical and biomedical journals including World Neurosurgery, Osteoarthritis and Cartilage, Journal of Engineering in Medicine: Part H, British Journal of Neurosurgery, Neurological Sciences, Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering: Imaging & Visualization, Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology Progress, Asian Journal of Neurosurgery, Anti-Cancer Drugs and BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders. Expert has also been and ad-hoc reviewer of NEUROSURGERY®, The European Spine Journal, International Journal of Nanomedicine and Pain Medicine. I have also provided expert review services for several scientific funding agencies in the U.S. (including the NIH Panel for Clinical Neurophysiology, Devices, Neuroprosthetics and Biosensors) as well as abroad (including the Innovation and Technology Commission/ Hong Kong SAR Government and The Brain Tumor Charity - New Ideas Award/UK).

As a researcher, he has published more than 130 peer-reviewed indexed articles, having had the privilege of having his research featured as front cover of NEUROSURGERY® as well as of the Journal of Neurosurgery a few times. According to Google Scholar,* Expert's research has received approximately 1400 citations.
