Request Expert

Expert is an Independent Consultant in Natural Gas Distribution Operations. His experience includes pipe installation, gas meters and meter sets, leak response and detection, compliance and regulatory issues, damage prevention, operator qualifications, quality assurance, leak survey and emergency preparedness.

Expert has done consulting work with utility companies, assisting them with writing emergency procedure manuals, business continuity plans and critical procedures plans. His expertise includes designing emergency drills for gas, electric, water and wastewater utilities, as well as running mock drill scenarios and associated training. He can also consult on service record research, correction and GIS records entry.

He previously worked with South Jersey Gas Company (SJG), where he spent 23 years in Operations as a Supervisor in new and replacement, main and service construction, where he was responsible for maintenance of mains and services (leak repair crews), gas appliance service repair, and first responder supervisor. He also served as the Manager of Division Operations for the Atlantic (100+ employees) and Cape May (60+ employees) Divisions, where he was responsible for all gas operations for each division, managing contracts for company warehousing contractor, meter testing and repair shop operations, facilities markout contractor, and leak survey contracting. He finished employment at SJG as Manager of GIS/Records, responsible for developing a new in house GIS program while managing the records cleanup of all company records.

Expert managed SJG's compliance program which required meeting all regulations for leak survey, main and service replacement programs. He helped determine which main and service replacement jobs would be prioritized in SJG's Bare Steel and Cast Iron replacement programs.
