Expert studied microwaves and antennas for his master's degree and put it to good use over many years. He has designed all types of antennas, from narrow band monopoles to wide band horns, from spirals to helices and reflectors and arrays. He designed, fabricated and optimized antennas for electronic warfare for use on aircraft and ships and for communications systems for use on satellites. During the development of many of these antennas, he gained intimate knowledge of antenna pattern measurement techniques, such as far field, near field, compact ranges and tapered ranges. He has attended several antenna measurement techniques courses and also presented at the AMTA (Antenna Measurements and Techniques Association) conferences He designed, fabricated and installed two scanning arm spherical nearfield antenna ranges for use at Ku and Ka band frequencies.

He led the effort to bring the shaped reflector capability to his company. He was responsible for design and test of several dozen reflector antennas installed on several spacecraft over a period of 15 years. He has performed in-orbit tests of the antennas before the spacecraft was officially handed over to the customer.

2001-2004: Worked for GORCA, a space and communications company based in Moorestown, NJ.
Monitored the contractor (Lockheed Martin) on behalf of the Rainbow customer, for technical and schedule progress over 3 years in the design, fabrication, assembly and test and integration of the Rainbow Ku band satellite with particular focus on the payload and the reflector antenna performance. Antenna included an autotrack system.
Attended and wrote minutes for all weekly technical meetings for the customer.
Solved major cross polarization issues during spacecraft level tests of the Ku antenna.
Reviewed and approved as required, the performance of the antenna subsustem based on its compliance with requirements.

• Responsible for cost and schedule control for several projects. One of the major duties is to do the annual performance ratings for all the employees in the group.
• Lead a team to successfully fabricate the first in house composite reflector at the Denver facility, which will save almost a million dollars per spacecraft. In this effort I obtained the funding for the program, led a team in Newtown and one in Denver, over a period of 10 months. I held weekly meeting with the teams, took minutes and distributed actions, then followed up on the actions for each actionee before the next meeting.
• Presented progress to upper management on a weekly basis.
• Currently leading the technical effort to reduce antenna tests times (nearfield and farfield) without impacting mission success. This effort saved over $1.5 million dollars per spacecraft.
• Selected and justified suitable suppliers for a nearfield scanner, special ground support equipment, wrote purchase orders, made regular presentations to upper management on technical, cost and schedule issues.
