Expert is a nationally recognized domain expert at the interface between AI/Machine Learning and Medical Imaging/Radiology.
As a consultant, Expert has extensive experience facilitating small, mid-sized, and large companies entering and expanding into this space. Since 2014, he has served as a senior radiologist and consultant at IBM Watson Health. From 2015 onward, he has advised many of the world’s leading AI-in-Imaging companies, including QURE.ai, Enlitic, Lunit, Visla Labs, and AI Analysis. Expert is highly knowledgeable and able to discuss strategy with regard to the medical AI market. This includes go-to-market and market growth strategy, market sizing and opportunity analysis, profitability analysis, market entry strategy, product development, process design/support, and production optimization. He is knowledgeable about the FDA/CE approval processes and has personally guided several companies through the FDA 510k application. In addition to significant clinical and translational research experience, Expert has published numerous papers on leveraging AI, ML, and social media in radiology to ultimately improve patient care. He was a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School for 5 years, lecturing and mentoring both HMS students and radiology residents.
Expert has taken part in over 500-panel surveys and interviews on a wide variety of medical and radiologic topics. He has also served as an expert witness in medical malpractice cases, and he has consulted with medical education companies to help develop and expand their product lines. Expert completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency and Neuroradiology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. He holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. Expert is a proud member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honors society. He also holds a B.A. (with honors) in Neuroscience from Boston College.
