Expert (R) Expert has 30+ years experience as an academic medical statistician. His areas of interest and expertise include clinical trial methodology; he was a member of the UK medicines regulatory body, The Committee on Safety of Medicines. He has subsequently been a member of UK Medical Research Council, UK National Institute for Health Research, UK NICE and medical charity research boards, and several other international trial steering and data monitoring committees.

Current interests focus on development of generalised methods for synthesis of evidence of varying types (i.e. extensions of systematic review and meta-analysis methods), with applications to risk assessment and other areas. He is a past President of the Society for Research Synthesis Methodology.
