This includes the production of dry color systems, pigment dispersion and concentrates, liquid colors and masterbatches. He has many years experience of color matching to meet specific colors and performance criteria, and formulating color packages for a wide variety of polymers based on pigments and dyestuffs. He has a wide knowledge of market applications, what is required from a color, how to satisfy a color requirement and how to ensure consistency of product. He is very familiar with methods of manufacture of coloring systems, color measurement, color management and color quality control and all aspects relating to the production of coloring materials for plastics and their subsequent use.
Recent areas of development include an innovative, patented product for the colouration of PVCu and development of coloring systems that enable post consumer thermoplastics to be sorted using NIR [Near Infra Red] technology and recycled back into primary applications.
In addition to his technical background Expert also has extensive market knowledge in plastics colouring and has developed and marketed innovative patented products in this area.
He has advised US clients on the legislative requirements for supplying products into the EU. Expert has been involved with a number of government sponsored contracts relating to plastic recycling. Expert has been retained to advise in a number of colouring applications relating to colouring recycled polymers into new products. Expert was commissioned to develop a colour concentrate to pigment bitumen for road colouring applications.
