Nationally known A.V. rated litigator with over 30 years of experience. Since 1992 served as a litigator, consultant and expert in numerous cases involving attorneys’ fee disputes, including disputes between clients and independently retained counsel; prevailing party fee disputes; Cumis fee disputes and attorney fee arbitrations. Expert has been involved in litigation and appellate work concerning legal ethics, the ethics of the tripartite relationship, legal auditing, billing guidelines, and staff counsel issues. He has reviewed and analyzed hundreds of millions of dollars in legal fees and costs as an expert witness and lawyer in fee dispute litigation. The underlying litigation in fee disputes has dealt with a broad range of subjects, including entertainment cases, advertising injury, asbestos cases, EPLI, MTBE contamination cases, oil spill cases, consumer cases, mass tort litigation, patent, copyright, intellectual property matters, and commercial and business disputes. 63 cases to date. |
