Request Expert

Expert received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Medicine in 1986. He completed his residency in pathology and microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he also obtained the Chief Resident position his final year. Additionally, during his residency, he was involved in the anatomic quality assurance committee and was a pathology course coordinator for pharmacy students and lecturer of multiple pathology courses.

Expert is a laboratory medical director of a lab performing nearly 2 million tests per year that get samples from the 500 bed hospital, integrated physicians clinic practices (more than 150 physicians) and regional reference lab clients. His 8 person independent pathology group performs 28,000 surgical pathology cases and about the same number of cytopathology cases.

He has been the president of the hospital medical staff and have a long history working in with pathology and laboratory medicine CPT coding, including chairing the AMA-CPT Pathology Coding Caucus. His past work as Director of Medical Education (for 11 years) provided him with experience being appointed to the Board of Directors of the KMEF and serving as chairman of the KMEF Graduate Medical Education Committee. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at his affiliated medical school and Associate Pathologist for his private pathology group.


He has consulted with mulitple technology companies in the past regarding CPT coding advise.
