Responsibilities:Expert founded this eponymous company specializing in chip design, communication IC's, and microsystems. He has developed wireless, wireline, and fiber-optic transceivers (transmitters and receivers). He developed microsensor systems including microsensors/micromachines, trans-impedance amplifiers, readout electronics, analog to digital converters, and digital signal processors. Surveyed several semiconductor foundries. He developed silicon analog chips for a large commercial company. He is responsible for formulating the business and technical direction for the company, and for its development. He obtained and has been successfully performing on several contracts, grants, and IR&D projects. The largest contracts to date are $400K from a large commercial company, $750K from DoD and $500K from NASA, and the largest grant is $260K from NSF. Expert coordinates on an average of 12 professionals that include subcontractors. |

| Years: 1980 to 1989 | Employer: Honeywell | Title: Principal Research Scientist | Department: Systems and Research Center |
Responsibilities:In the microelectronics and microsystems science area, Expert performed IC design and device modeling of Si bipolar VLSI/VHSIC digital chips in ISL and CML, and unipolar analog chips in CCD, MOS, and CMOS mux/readout/signal processing for IR-FPA sensors. He developed silicon ICs including a VLSI/VHSIC electro-optical signal processor and controller chip set, four bipolar gate arrays, two ROMs, one static RAM and analog MOS/CMOS chips. He designed and modeled GaAs analog and digital devices using depletion- and enhancement-mode MESFETs and heterojunctions. Expert developed GaAs IC's including five gate arrays, two static RAM's, three A/D and four D/A converters, analog IC's, and MMIC's. The highest frequency was at 35 GHz (Ka band). He worked on opto-electronics integrated circuits, designed a multiplexer and a driver for interfacing with an on-chip laser, and worked on a phase locked loop for a microwave transceiver. He also worked on signal processing of electro-optical systems, electronic warfare, and computer architectures for chip integration and insertion. He was principal investigator and/or program manager on several projects. |
