Expert's areas of mainframe, client server, or PC-based business expertise include: proprietary applications from RFP through installation; optimal architecture design; implementation; legacy system conversions; OLAP & RDBMS development; logistical modeling; and operations research. Business systems that help reduce cost, improve productivity, and can be fine-tuned to better adapt to change and help manage increasing uncertainty, complexity, and costs.
Expert has applied his management consulting expertise to many industries, including consumer and forest products, petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals, commercial real estate, leisure time, information technology, surface and air transportation, defense industries, and the U.S. military, and Federal and state governments. He has helped shape future manufacturing complexes, select multiple manufacturing and warehouse sites, assess the financial impact of various logistical alternatives, perform competitive analysis, and plan resources requirements, production, distribution, and transportation. He has also helped select vendors, process orders, plan and schedule production, and manage resources (facilities, equipment, materials, personnel, capital, and information), purchasing, and inventory control.
Expert's expertise includes operations management and research, logistics, computer science, business process re-engineering, and technology innovation and management as they are applied to management information, decision support, and business systems development.
A significant portion of Expert's recent career involved helping clients research and select computer software and vendors. He performed competitive analysis and gathered competitive intelligence on application software and vendors. This work led to the selection and implementation of software packages in principally three areas: aeronautics, manufacturing, and intelligence information.
In aeronautics, he was the sole designer of an emergency flight planning and operating system integrating global positioning system (GPS) and geographic information system (GIS) onto an airborne laptop "moving maps" display for search and rescue. He presented this material to top level USAF Pentagon personnel and demonstrated a 45% reduced mission time potential with improved resource utilization, accounting trails. With other experts' participation, he aided clients to determine near future product development concepts, innovate into new territories, develop new products for the longer term, and better shape future emergency service opportunities. The system was developed by Garmin International, Inc. (GARMIN), Olathe, KS, over a three-year period. The civilian version Search and Rescue (SAR) application software for the GARMIN G1000 Cessna Nav III Integrated Flight Deck (EFD) was fully deployed nationwide in 2008.
An equally significant portion of Expert's recent career concerned advising clients on Information Technology trends, discontinuities, and opportunities. He presented this material to top level management together with that of other experts in social, economic, futuristics, industry-specific sciences. With other experts' participation, he aided clients to determine competitive product implications, innovate into new territories, better shape future business opportunities, and develop new products.
