AIR QUALITY AND MONITORING; AIR SAMPLING EQUIPMENT. As a certified industrial hygienist, Ms. Expert has extensive experience and expertise in the collection of air samples and making air quality observations, both in the work-place and in the general environment.
ASBESTOS CONTROL; ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT; ASBESTOS EQUIPMENT. Ms. Expert is proficient in asbestos, asbestos control, and asbestos control procedures and equipment. Both she and members of her staff have designed and managed asbestos abatement projects. Her company provides EPA and AHERA-approved training, and has provided numerous facilities with asbestos inspections and management plans.
HANDLING OF HAZARDOUS AND TOXIC CHEMICALS. Ms. Expert is well-acquainted with the handling of corrosives, cryogenics, flammables, and industrial solvents. In the past ten years, she has spent a significant portion of her time developing materials to inform customers and workers about the hazards of chemical products, as well as how to protect themselves from them. In addition, she has developed plant safety and health programs related to the handling of hazardous materials.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS. As part of overall safety and health programs, Ms. Expert has developed many in-plant emergency response programs. She and her staff also conduct training programs for hazardous waste and emergency response operations.
EMPLOYEE RIGHT-TO-KNOW; HAZARD COMMUNICATION. Ms. Expert has developed numerous facility hazard communication programs for companies, provided employee training in this area (including video productions), and assisted chemical manufacturers and distributors in meeting their responsibilities. She also works in the area of community right-to-know.
INDOOR AIR QUALITY AND POLLUTION CONTROL. Ms. Expert has conducted a large number of indoor air quality evaluations, and has developed successful mitigation programs for problem buildings. These evaluations include occupant interviews, air sampling, and specific remedial recommendations.
MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS AND LABELING. Ms. Expert currently prepares material safety data sheets and hazard labeling for a wide variety of clients. She is very familiar with international requirements, as well as OSHA, EEC, and regulations in Canada and Australia. She also provides other regulatory guidance in the areas of DOT and IATA regulations for transport of hazardous materials, chemical inventory compliance (TSCA, EINECS, MITI-Japan, and Canada-DSL), and related areas.
TRANSPORTATION OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. As part of preparing MSDS and labeling for chemicals, Ms. Expert routinely classifies the chemicals for transportation. She reads extensively on hazardous material transportation, and has attended special courses. In addition, her work in toxicology and industrial hygiene has given her an exceptional background for work in this area.
CHEMICAL REGULATORY CONTROL. As an element of MSDS preparation, Ms. Expert verifies the regulatory status of the chemical components. Since she must do this for international purposes, she keeps up-to-date on TSCA requirements, EEC (EINECS), Canada (DSL), Japan (MITI), and developing regulations.
