Expert joined Carrier Transicold as a Manufacturing Manager. He advanced to Production Manager and eventually to PLant Manager. When it was necessary to relocate for expansion he headed up site selection and new facility start-up being promoted to General Manager. He has served as VP of Engineering (PACE Corp) Director of Engineering (Energy Labs Inc) but always involved in the manufacturing process. He was never reluctant to reassign personnel even if it was termination. But people out of position are better off seeking new career opportunities. Expert realizes that as in most things it is about the people who make up the team. Manufacturing is first of all a TEAM process.
He visited many off-site location to resolve product problems. He was always the last resort after everyone gave up. The situation then was always sensitive and required satisfying the customer, a dealer, and your boss. He was always able to complete the task with a good resolution and happy folks. He was responsible for the identification of the cause of premature bearing failure in motors driven by variable speed. He developed a test procedure that identified bearings in trouble and procedures for replacement that minimized down time. In that all of these systems were associated with clean rooms the rework was more difficult and time consuming. This resulted in developing a sense of confidence with end-users such as Intel, IBM, etc.
