Expert graduated from Clark University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1993. While at Clark he was a Clark Writing Fellow and Editor in Chief of the campus newspaper. He was born and raised in Framingham, Massachusetts and is a graduate of the Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees, is a member of the Executive committee and Chairs the Audit committee.
Expert is a former trustee of The Jewish Board of Family and Children Services in New York City and a past president of Jewish Big Brothers and Sisters.
Prior to moving to Florida in June of 2014, he was an active member of the Fanwood Rescue Squad, which provides volunteer Emergency Medical Services to Fanwood and the surrounding communities in Union County New Jersey. He is a State of New Jersey Certified Emergency Medical Technician.
