ID: 728233
Canada
He is currently engaged by a lawyer in Calgary, working on a collision reconstruction involving a tractor semi-trailer time v. distance study, diagram of each position second by second, perception response time estimates and support via published literature. This is a personal injury action seeking damages for the substandard behavior of a tractor semi-trailer operator.Currently retained by counsel (who is representing the tractor trailer operator's insurance company in the abovementioned case, on another matter involving the standard of care of a third party tractor trailer operator who overturned his unit due to operator error. Property damages in excess of 350,000 are at issue.Currently retained by counsel to comment on the standard of care exhibited by an owner operator who left his unit unattended at a truck stop in Ontario, from whence is was stolen. At issue is the difference between paying for lost cargo by the pound (weight) or by its market value. He has performed turn around activites at a company in Calgary with revenues in excess of 10 million dollars per annum, by assuming the role of general manager, hiring and training replacement employees, holding meeting with present employees to inform them of the changes upcoming, relieving some employees from their obligations and allowing them to seek opportunities elsewhere, and improving the morale of the workforce to the point where the owner was sufficiently satisfied to pay the agreed upon performance bonus. He was recently retained to reconstruct a run off the road incident involving a pickup truck traveling at 105 to 110 km/hr, leaving the road as a result of its operator's vision being impaired by sun glare. This case was complicated by allegations of impairment due to alcohol by the driver, and the fact that one of his passengers was fatally injured. Charges were dropped. Expert's report indicated that a sober driver would have been expected to react similarly to how the physical evidence showed the subject driver reacted, thereby not allowing the Crown meet the test required to prove its case.
