BOSTON - Directed Neuropsychiatry at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School from 1987-92 managing a staff of 30 professionals and a budget of $6M.

OHIO - From 1994 to 2000, served as Medical Director of the largest state hospital in Ohio, managing some 600 employees with a budget of $35M and helped bring the hospital from JCAHO ‘receivership’ to designation by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill as the ‘Best Psychiatric Facility in Ohio’, while ensuring legislative support for a $60M replacement facility.

From 1998-2000, also served as Medical Director of Inpatient Services in a statewide Integrated Health System spanning nine sites and overseeing a multidisciplinary staff of some 1300 and a budget of some $100M.
As Professor of Psychiatry and Medical Director of the University of Cincinnati Institute for Medicine and Law established a highly successful Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry, was active in a broad range of teaching as well as research programs including clinical trials in mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders as well as anthropological genetics of psychopathology.
