Expert has successfully performed over three thousand deliveries, and has extensive experience in operative deliveries as well as normal deliveries. He also has worked collaboratively with certified nurse midwives for over 20 years. He has been chairman of the Ob/Gyn department at his hospital for many years, and chairs the Perinatal Risk Management Initiative for a three state division (Tristar Division) of the Hospital Corporation of America, which is the nation's largest hospital corporation. He is especially experienced in the management of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, in no small part due to his training at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals' Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Expert has successfully performed thousands of circumcisions using the Mogen clamp and has instructed other physicians in this technique. The Mogen method remains the ideal circumcision due to its simplicity, short procedure time, no associated bleeding, and vanishingly low complication rate. It provides for the fastest healing, no special care needed post-procedure, and best cosmetic result.
Expert has broad experience in office based gynecology, with over 20 years experience in managing abnormal Pap smears and HPV disease. He was the first in his area to adopt liquid-based cytologic screening for cervical cancer. His knowledge of infertility is broad, and he has performed IUI, superovulation, and tubal reconstructive surgery as well as ovarian drilling/diathermy for drug-resistant PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). He is one of the few surgeons nationally who has extensive experience in laparoscopic excision of endometriosis. Having performed gynecologic and pelvic ultrasound for over 20 years, he was one of the first in the state to routinely perform saline sonohysterography to change the paradigm of evaluation of abnormal uterine bleeding to minimize painful procedures such as endometrial biopsies. He was the first in his area to offer Gardasil® vaccination to protect against Human Papilloma Virus.
