Expert Details
Friction and Wear Reduction, Biomechanics
ID: 715851
New Hampshire, USA
Expert has studied these phenomena in a variety of applications. The applications include mechanical face seals, gas path seals, dry sleeve bearings, snow skis, and computer disk-head interactions. He has investigated the wear and failure of orthopaedic joint prostheses, including hip and knee prostheses. He has used finite element methods in much of his work and has developed finite element programs to analyze surface temperatures and contact stresses. He has designed and constructed a variety of mechanical test devices and has been actively teaching mechanical design courses.
