Expert is a board certified Forensic Toxicologist, with 13 years experience as a laboratory director, expert witness, and clinical consultant. He's served as the director of numerous toxicology laboratories, ranging from regional medical centers to large national reference laboratories. The scope of his testing included clinical toxicology, emergency room/overdose toxicology, work place drug testing (regulated and non-regulated testing), human performance testing including DUI/DUID case work, heavy metal and trace metals testing, oral fluid testing, and post mortem toxicology. He has testified in court, both civil and criminal, for both the prosecution/plantiff and defense. In addition to court testimony, he has been deposed on multiple occasions, and consulted on numerous cases that did not result in a trial.

Expert is currently the Scientific Director of a large clinical laboratory, where he is responsible for insuring the quality of laboratory results. In his previous role, he was the Technical Director at Beaumont Health, Michigan's largest health care system. Additionally, Expert was an Assistant Professor at Oakland University, where he taught fourth year medical students in medical and forensic toxicology, as well as the Technical Director of Sparrow Health System.

Expert is licensed as a Laboratory Director with the New York State Department of Health, is a Fellow on the American Board of Forensic Toxicologists, and is a Medical Technologist for the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Expert has nine publications and over 20 poster presentations.
