Flowmeters
ID: 108431
Germany
Having extensive experience with flowmeter calibration, Expert has designed and implemented volumetric, and time/weight calibrators and provers. He is very knowledgeable of volumetric calibrators for gas applications, gas metering, and airflow measurement. He is generally knowledgeable regarding liquid and gas as well as mass and volumetric aspects of flow measurement. In addition, he is knowledgeable concerning internal flow and flow conditioning.
Expert has expertise with flowmeters, especially turbine flowmeters. He has extensive experience in the design and application of flowmeters, installation effects, cavitation, and bearing selection.
Since 1985, Expert has worked with the design, installation, and servicing of flow calibration equipment, for both liquids and gases. He has established and is now managing a full service flowmeter calibration laboratory in Munich, Germany. He has over 12 years experience in flow measurement and calibration of gases and liquids and has authored many papers on this subject, which, in many cases, has pushed the state of the art of existing technology. Expert can answer in-depth questions on fuel meters, mass flowmeters, ultrasonic flowmeters, velocity-type flowmeters, venturi meters, volume meters, and water meters.
Expert has worked in Germany since 1990 and has a working knowledge of German. He is also fluent in Greek.
Since 1992, Expert has devoted a considerable amount of time to measuring physical properties of oil and natural gas. He has measured the BTU (caloric) content of natural gas using chromatographic methods, as well as natural gas moisture content and specific gravity and density. He has also measured the density and pressure of oil.

Training / Seminars |
---|
Training/Seminars Expert offers a one-day seminar. This course evaluates the current state of gas flow metering technology. Topics covered in the seminar include fundamental concepts of liquid flow metering technology; principles of gas flow measurement; the differences between liquid and gas flow measurement; sources of error and uncertainty in gas flow measurement; gas flow measurement reliability and accuracy; and gas calibration principles. Another seminar that Expert offers focuses on liquid and gas flow calibration. The class discusses the differences between liquid and gas calibration; sources of error and uncertainty in liquid and gas flow calibration; methods for improving calibration reliability and accuracy; current available flow calibration technologies; and commercial calibration laboratories and their capabilities. |
Other Relevant Experience |
---|
Expert has worked in Europe since 1990 where he has become intimately involved with the modification of American-made products for the purpose of meeting European requirements and expectations. Specifically, he has coordinated the design and certification process of electrical process measurement equipment for the European market. |
