Expert's experience as an Engineering Measures Expert and Six Sigma Green Belt with Raytheon has provided him with visionary expertise on Software Inspections and Defect Reduction. He has created and implemented Product Quality improvements in both Software and Hardware development processes. In particular, his concepts and tools have been identified as best practices, adopted by several Software organizations, and piloted for a Hardware organization. His improvements were associated with $1M in cost avoidance. He is the inventor for 1 patent and 2 patents pending on predicting Software Product Quality based upon Software Inspection execution. All 3 patents are based upon Process Performance Models he developed for Software Defect Reduction and the impact of Sofware Inspections. He has also closed gaps in process compliance required for CMMI assessments at levels 3 thru 5.
While at Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems, he entered into a formal contract with another Raytheon business, Raytheon Inegrated Defense Systems. This contract was for domain expert support in improving Hardware Peer Review Processes and spanned roughly 6 months in 2009-2010, during which he worked approximately 20 hours per week. He analyzed data, assessed opportunities for improvement, proposed solutions, pitched solutions to upper management, and developed an EXCEL tool for use by Hardware Engineers. His concepts were approved, funded, and tested, along with the EXCEL tool in a pilot program launched in 2010.While at Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems, he entered into a formal contract with another Raytheon business, Raytheon Missile Systems in 2009. This contract was for domain expert support in improving Software and Hardware Peer Reviews and was less than a mon-month in size. He provided advice on Peer Reviews on a number of topics and reviewed Peer Review process documents.
