Expert has been in health care since 1985. He has an extensive background in EMS, emergency medicine and air medical transport as a clinician, educator, author, and leader. Expert has worked at a leading academic medical center and interact regularly with individuals, organizations and professional groups across the United States and Canada focusing on issues that impact medical transport and healthcare organizations.

Expert has worked in healthcare since 1985 in a variety of roles in emergency medicine, air medical transport and EMS as a clinician, educator, consultant, and leader.

His experience entails working as an emergency nurse in an academic medical center Emergency Department, community hospitals and rural Emergency Departments. Expert's EMS experience encompasses both rural and urban environments along with mass gathering events.

His current position involves a blend of providing education, clinical duties, and administration within Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Expert teaches regularly to multidisciplinary groups focusing on topics surrounding, emergency medicine, airway management, trauma care, EMS and air medical transport. He coordinates and teaches the Vanderbilt Emergency Medicine Airway Cadaver Course; centered on teaching resuscitative skills and advanced airway management skills using fresh tissue cadavers.

Currently, his clinical time is spent focusing on providing acute/emergent care to adults and children either in the Emergency Department or as part of the Vanderbilt Event Medicine team.

Expert's clinical interests include resuscitation, trauma, airway management, EMS, chest pain/STEMI, and emergency nursing as a specialty.

Expert has worked as a subject matter expert for medical devices focusing on airway management, EMS and emergency medical equipment including analysis, testing, and trials.

On occasion, he acts as a nurse expert witness performing work for defense and plaintiffs in the areas of emergency nursing, flight nursing, air medical transport, and EMS. Expert has >25 years’ experience as a nurse expert providing records review, analysis, and opinions on standard of care involving care, assessment, triage, procedures, and protocols. He has provided both trial and deposition testimony.

Consulting Examples:
1. Expert worked as a Senior Consultant from 2003-06. Expert provides outreach, marketing and program development strategy to air medical transport programs within the US. He worked with programs around the country including customers from Air Methods Corporation, CJ Systems and Med Trans Corporation. 3T provides training, software and deliverables to customers across the healthcare spectrum.
2. Expert worked as a consultant on a part-time basis for Air Methods corporation providing training and assistance to helicopter EMS programs with the AMC system. The work consisted of program development, strategy/business development and training of leadership to maximize volume, customer service and reimbursement. His work with AMC was from 2005-07.
3. Expert has assisted an endoscopy company in training sales and leadership staff in the areas of airway management and its role/priority within the EMS, emergency medicine and air medical transport arena. This work revolves around providing advice on product marketing, development and training. He continues to assist them on as-needed basis.
