Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Design Analysis, Testing/Troubleshooting
ID: 724995
California, USA
Any aspect of system design and engineering are analyzed from component level to system integration regardless of product application of environment of use. He is well versed in system-level design and has been engaged as an expert witness on numerous with a winning track record.
In addition, many professional training courses are provided, all with a focus on fundamental concepts for those entering the field of EMC or as a refresher course for senior engineers.
If a product fails EMI, ESD, or immunity tests, Expert provides professional troubleshooting services from the component/silicon and printed circuit board level through I/O and chassis design. Cost-effective solutions are identified and implemented.
For companies that require CE approval on industrial products that cannot be taken to an EMC test facility, in situ testing using the Technical File route is easily achieved at a low cost. Examples of products with extensive expertise include semiconductor manufacturing equipment and other large-scale industrial systems.
Expert has also authored five popular textbooks on the subject of EMC and system design with international translations and is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 assessed EMC test laboratory.
He provides expert design analysis for printed circuit boards from the schematic level through production related to signal integrity and to minimize the development of unintentional common-mode current (EMI) to achieve FCC and CE approvals. In addition, consulting services include full system integration of sub-assemblies, not just printed circuit boards. He provides expert testing and troubleshooting assistance to achieve EMC/ESD compliance. If a product fails compliance certification, he works with design engineers and/or the test laboratories to identify problem areas and implement cost-effective solutions which save the client a significant amount of money and quicker product release. He is an assessed EMC test laboratory to ISO 17025 for companies that require in situ testing to achieve CE compliance to the EMC Directive, with a focus on semiconductor manufacturing and industrial equipment using the Technical File route. He provides professional training seminars on a variety of EMC topics worldwide. All courses are either one or two days in length and can be tailored to the end-user and seminars are taught privately in-house or sponsored by a company.
