Responsibilities:Expert has served this U.S. university's Applied Energy Research Center in the following roles: Associated Director of the Electrochemical Power Sources Group; Adjunct Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (continued to present); Associate Director of the Argonne Battery Manufacturing R&D Center; and Associate Director of Professional Development within the Power and Energy Institute of the state. Responsibilities:Expert set up a research group, acquiring grants in corrosion, chemical vapor deposition, battery materials, carbon nanomaterials, electrochemical energy storage, and other spheres. He managed over $3.6 million in research grants while developing and teaching a dozen varying graduate and undergraduate courses.During this time Expert was a Summer Faculty Fellow (1990-91) via NASA and ASEE, during which time he developed a nondestructive testing method and innovative cycling procedure for nickel-hydrogen satellite batteries. |
