Electrical Engineering: Construction

ID: 735182
Colorado, USA
Expert's field experience enables him to address the constructability of electrical systems and coordinate with other systems during the design phase of a project. Coordination with mechanical, plumbing and structural systems is one of the keys to a successful project.
Expert has experience serving as an expert consultant in connection with formal dispute resolution proceedings, including arbitration. His recent experience therein includes providing consulting, expert witness, and litigation support services to a large national general contractor in connection with the defense of a multi-million dollar standard of care and delay / lost productivity claim asserted electrical sub-contractor relating to the construction of a $40 million educational facility. He has conducted interviews of key design and construction professionals, participated in site observations, prepared reports of findings, testified in depositions, and presented findings and analysis to opposing parties and counsel at a settlement conference.
Expert is highly qualified to provide electrical system schematic design development and project quality control design review. He has prepared schematic designs and conducted design reviews for hundreds of facilities of all project types. He has been the engineer of record for hundreds of projects in my 30+ years.
Expert has successfully submitted changes to governing codes, including NFPA 70 and NFPA 110. The NFPA 70 changes concerned the calculation method for plug loads in medical facilities and the inclusion of fuel cells for critical power backup in healthcare facilities. The NFPA 110 changes added the use of fuel cells as backup power for healthcare facilities.
As an electrician beginning before and throughout college and now as a Master Electrician, Expert has been involved in dozens of successful projects. He is keenly aware of proper construction techniques. Design drawing interpretation can be a big problem when projects are not properly staffed with experienced individuals. His field experience allows him to identify staffing issues early on in a project that can help avoid construction deficiencies and claims.
