As well as being a Chartered Engineer, he has separately gained MSc Occupational Safety and Health, and he is a Commercial Mediator. He is a member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, Fellow Institution of Public Health Engineers, Fellow of the Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers, Member of the Worshipful Company of Plumbers, Chartered Member Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, and Gas Safe registered in compliance Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulation 1998 reg.3. He is a former chair of a British Standards Technical Committee for water and plumbing services and a former director of the Institute of Plumbing.
He entered the profession as an indentured student apprentice Plumbing, Gas and Public Health (Building Services) Engineer during August 1964 and qualified as an Engineer in 1969. He continued his academic training and “hands-on” work development to complete his professional qualification when he was awarded his Chartered Engineer status in 1983. He became an Expert Witness during 1984. He has completed the Academy of Experts course for “CPR Compliant Expert Witness and the Single Joint Expert”. During 2005 he gained the Cardiff University Accredited Expert Witness Certificate by their examination.
During 2000 as part of his on-going professional development he commenced and has gained MSc in Occupational Safety and Health specialising in gas inhalation by gas fitters from within their breathing zone. IHe is a Chartered Safety and Health Practioner.
Since 1984 He has been instructed as an expert witness and given oral evidence in Civil and Criminal Courts. He is also an Academy of Experts trained Commercial Mediator.
His Expert Witness duties are completed in compliance with B.S.EN. ISO 9001: 2000 “Quality Management” and BS.EN.ISO 14001: 2004 “Environmental Management” systems to ensure compliance with C.P.R. Part 35 to the Appointor’s instructions.
