Cyanoacrylate Chemistry: Basic Research to Production
ID: 723815
Georgia, USA
Expert has total and complete knowledge of cyanoacrylate chemistry. This includes design, fabrication, and construction of a manufacturing operation to produce these materials. Recently completed one of these facilities for the production of a medical device formula for surgical and topical consumer uses. Capabilities to produce all known cyanoacrylate monomers from lab scale to production. His expertise and industry recognition led to his most recent relocation to the Employer venture. He continues to focus in biomedical applications of cyanoacrylates and other adhesives. The efforts in his involvement at Spartan were such that the operation was maintained for 6 years with minimal investor contribution. Spartan was infused with venture funding and is now Adhezion Biomedical under new management. Three new marketed products have now come out as the result of expert's 6 years of effort.

Publications and Patents Summary |
---|
He has a number of issued patents and also has 3 patents pending on cyanoacrylate technology. |
Additional Experience
Expert Witness Experience |
---|
Expert in analytical methodolgies involving failure of a product attributed to adhesive performance. He has provided expert opinion on failure cause to legal professionals and participated as an expert witness in a state court. |
Vendor Selection |
---|
He was instrumental in sourcing raw materials for the production of the cyanoacrylates due to his prior activities at AZ Laboratories. The principal ingredient was sourced at one half the cost form other known vendors and the patented process components were also identified and sourced through his contacts from AZ. |
Other Relevant Experience |
---|
Total experience in all aspects of producing cyanoacrylate adhesives. As the co-founder of Spartan Medical Products, LLC, he contributed the production facilities of his other cyanoacrylate operation to focus on the synthesis of long chain cyanoacrylte monomers, principally octyl cyanoacrylate. The relocation of the facility incorporated new methodologies to improve and refine the synthetic capabilities to infuse cost reductions and production efficiency. He was the principal contributor to the patents, technology, construction and all the refinements at the Spartan entity. These skills include, vacuum system design, reactor design/modification, condensor design, refrigeration cooling systems. He has hands-on capabilities with toolroom machinery, TIG and MIG welding, and EPA refrigeration certification . He was the driving force in the infrastructure development, maintenance and modifications as necessitated due to limited funding in the Spartan venture. |
