Clinical Medicine: Specializing in Emergency, Pediatric, and Internal Medicine
ID: 724345
New York, USA
Having trained at Charity Hospital, he got extensive emergency experience with an ER that had a volume of over 450,000 visits per year. After completing training, he decided to join 20% of Med/Peds trained physicians and go into full-time emergency medicine. He obtained double board certification in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. This training significantly exceeds that of ER in both scope and depth, qualifying him for such work and expertise. Since 1998, he has worked full-time in clinical emergency medicine 2300+ hrs per year in volumes ranging from 10,000 to 40,000 visits per year mainly in Level 2 and Level 3 ERs. He has also served the community for years, directing several advanced EMS agencies and providing continuing education in the form of lectures and especially directing Pediatric Advanced Life Support courses. He also completed training in Pediatric assault evaluations and worked as the director in founding the regional Child Advocacy Center.
He completed his residency training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in New Orleans, LA at Tulane and Charity hospitals. Both facilities are (were) tertiary care centers of clinical excellence. With extensive experience in both primary care/outpatient settings as well as hospital-based care and high-level critical care of adults, children, and newborns, he has a high level of expertise and knowledge in standards of care over a wide spectrum of pathologies in all age groups. He has since worked as a hospitalist as well as working extensively in emergency medicine, maintaining his broad expertise.
He has gone on to secure board certifications from both the American Board of Internal Medicine and also the American Board of Pediatrics, with Fellowship in the American Academy of Pediatrics. Furthermore, he has maintained high levels of Continuing Medical Education credits well above and beyond that required by the boards and licensing bureaus, maintaining his Physician Recognition Award from the AMA with distinction.
